Low and Weak

Is there a reason for all of this? I don’t know. I look at the events of the past week and shudder. We simply aren’t doing enough. I hear people talking about it like it happened one hundred years ago. I’m sorry but that’s not acceptable. It’s also heartless. I need to get on with my life to, but, I can’t stop reading what I need to read. I can’t stop listening to what I need to know. The people of New Orleans, poor, corrupt or not, I have to stay in touch. The innocent that number in the thousands deserve it.

What kind of message are we spending from our high and mighty offices if we don’t try harder or show that we give a damn? It’s easy to sit in our air friendly homes and say that the poor didn’t do what they should have done. But it’s also another to sit on our hands despite it. Ask yourself what options they had. Because you sure as hell don’t know how many people tried or pushed with all of their hearts to leave. If you want to be high and mighty you damn well better act it. The American version of “high and mighty” around the globe right now is “low and weak.” And, regardless if this happened for a reason or not, relief efforts should ALWAYS arrive at the same pace. FAST.
